Claire Gold

BACP Registered Counsellor

About me

I work with individuals who find themselves at a crossroads in life. Whether that is questioning life’s meaning, feeling stuck in patterns of behaviour, experiencing emotional pain and turmoil or wondering why life has not turned out the way it was expected to.

Together we can explore areas of difficulty and challenge, current life events and your life story. Through this work new meaning can be made that can help nurture a stronger sense of self care, compassion and acceptance; a resting place for your whole being.

I also have a Diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts. It can be hard sometimes to put words to the fullness of our experiences. Through art materials, objects, poetry and increasing your bodily awareness, a fuller expression can be supported.

Areas in which I work include, but are not limited to; anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, despair, suicidal thoughts and transitions in life.

I have particular experience in working with clients experiencing relationship difficulties at home or work, sexual harassment and sexual violence, the effects of birth, motherhood and parenting.

I see individuals on a short term basis (6 – 12 sessions) or for open ended work.

How do we begin?

Taking the first step can be daunting. You are welcome to contact me with your questions before we decide a time to meet.

When we first meet we look at what is troubling you and talk about practical arrangements such as how I work, fees and appointment times.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and occur weekly.

Initial sessions are charged at £45. Sessions are £65 thereafter.

A small number of sessions are available at a reduced fee. Please ask if you would like to know more about this.

Although Therapport Limited, the owner of the practice, is thorough in checking the qualifications, insurance and professional registration of each of our practitioners, the relationship is ultimately between the client and the practitioner themselves. Therapport Limtied provides space for clinicians and is not responsible for the clinical work they provide. Claire Gold is a BACP Registered Counsellor, therfore the complaints should be direct to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
