Terry Sergeant

BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist

About me

I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a BACP Accredited Counsellor. I have been working as a therapist since 2003 using a holistic, positive and hopeful approach to help individuals find solutions to their problems and cope with a range of difficulties.

I specialise in therapy for anxiety-based problems such as worry, panic attacks, stress, social anxiety, body image, OCD, phobias, trauma, and health anxiety. I also have specialist knowledge and experience of supporting lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB+) people, having worked in the field of sexuality for over two decades.

Having therapy can offer you many potential benefits. Some of these include: learning new skills and coping strategies for managing anxiety, improving your confidence and self-esteem, resolving difficulties in your relationships, overcoming fear, and having a place to discuss what you may not be able to share elsewhere.

If you are a couple experiencing relationship distress, I may be able to help you using an approach called Behavioural Couples Therapy. This is a type of therapy which aims to relieve stress, improve communication between you and your partner, solve relationship problems, and bring you closer together.

Although Therapport Limited, the owner of the practice, is thorough in checking the qualifications, insurance and professional registration of each of our practitioners, the relationship is ultimately between the client and the practitioner themselves. Therapport Limtied provides space for clinicians and is not responsible for the clinical work they provide. Terry Sergeant is a BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist, therfore the complaints should be direct to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
