I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and life coach. I specialise in CBT,an evidence based therapy which can help with many problems including stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and perfectionism, working part-time in the NHS as well as in private practice.
My original background is in philosophy, which informs me in my work, particularly drawing on ancient practical philosophies such as Stoicismn and helping people make major decisions in their lives and to find more meaning and purpose..
I am also trained in third-wave mindfulness based CBT therapies including Compassion Focussed Therapy and ACT.
I have written 2 books , Wise Therapy (Continuum, 2001) and Achieve Your Potential with Positive Psychology. (Hodder, 2014)
I have also enjoyed teaching therapy, counselling, psychology, philosophy and personal development courses for adults at City Unitversity and the City Lit in London for many years..
My aim is to use my many years of training and experience working with individuals to help you overcome your problems and to enable you to achieve your full potential.
