Cecilia Hazlerigg

BACP Accredited Practitioner

About me

I am a highly trained therapist with 12 years post qualification experience gained in a variety of settings. I currently offer psychotherapy, counselling, mindfulness training, clinical supervision, and consultancy.

My expertise and experience enable me to work creatively with my clients. Whilst my approach is informed by the training I have received and the experience I have gained, I view therapy as a dynamic collaboration intended to meet your changing needs.
I seek to facilitate an effective and engaging therapeutic process which reflects an individual's specific needs and goals. I draw upon a number of different theoretical approaches in order to offer a safe and useful space in which to think with you about those things that bring you to therapy.

My therapy style is strongly informed by Attachment Theory, psychodynamic practice, and psychoanalytic ideas. The focus I give to the relationship between myself and a client, and the intersubjectivity of our unfolding experience in the here and now, is central to my approach. I am interested in our embodied experience, and weave into my approach tools which come from somatic therapy, neuroscience, mindfulness and compassion based approaches.

My clients are aged 16+ and present with wide ranging experiences and concerns they wish to explore in therapy. I have experience of supporting people address a wide number of concerns. This list is far from exhaustive. Areas in which I have particular experience include:

• Trauma and loss
• Illness and bereavement
• Individuals addressing alcoholism, addiction, and/or codependency
• Family members affected by alcoholism/addiction(s)
• Eating disorders and distress
• Self-concept, image, confidence and esteem
• Trans* and non-binary identities

I am happy for you to book an initial consultation as an opportunity for us to meet and for you to assess whether you feel it would be productive and rewarding for us to work together.

If we conclude that there isn't a good enough fit for you right now, I am well placed to signpost you towards alternative resources and will be happy to consider onward referral towards colleagues and/or organisations who may be better placed to help.

I hope the foregoing information together with that on my website is useful. I look forward to hearing from you...

Although Therapport Limited, the owner of the practice, is thorough in checking the qualifications, insurance and professional registration of each of our practitioners, the relationship is ultimately between the client and the practitioner themselves. Therapport Limited provides space for clinicians and is not responsible for the clinical work they provide. Cecilia Hazlerigg is a BACP Accredited Practitioner, therefore the complaints should be direct to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
